Every location and historical claim will be sourced, with reconstructions clearly distinguished from original archival records.

We plan to combine narration, historic maps, documents, and accessible written content.

The two street illustrations below are schematic examples, NOT archival images, actual Vicksburg buildings, or historical reconstructions.

1886: A fire-insurance map can document building footprints and uses, but cannot provide a photographic view of 1835.

The production version will only use verified, dated, rights-cleared images matched to the same viewpoint. This demonstration does not change its images when a year is selected.
